Default ZT v6 160 versus 190

So can anyone explain the the differences between a v6 160 and. a v6 190 other than the obvious 30 bhp difference please?

is the power reduction due to restricted inlet tract, camshaft profiles ECU mapping differences or something else?

Thanks

Alan

The 160 has a restricted air box, there is a trumpet in place to defer airflow. The 190 has a larger 80mm inlet.

The exhaust has a restriction in the back box and the diameter of the pipe is 57mm opposed to 60mm on 190 models.

The camshafts differ, the 190 has a larger profile.

The gearbox on 190 models has a lower ratio.

The brakes are bigger, the suspension points are more rigid to combat body roll. Thicker anti roll bars..

Different ECU tune and err... Well it gives you a general idea.

Don't you mean lower Paul, as the 160 uses the standard 75 2.5 Gearing, whereas the 190 is lower geared to give better in gear acceleration!

That's what I was trying to say, lost in my own confusion.

Start with the brakes, they are a nice upgrade in theory and visually.

The 180 shared the same front discs as the 160, but the 180 had ventilated rears the same as 190 models.

Braking effect is good with the standard setup, but the 325mm fronts are an improvement on this.

The ventilated rear discs are expensive and calipers would have to be sourced, the expenditure is down to now much you want them.
