All that time waiting for your car Nigel and now this
If I was you I would just swallow it , stick two finger up and go. You'll soon have a beaming smile on your face for the weekend till the 1st July and onwards, in spite of a 3/4 lost month on Tax. Don't let it hold you back and live for the moment

As far as I recall, you can tax it up to two days before it's due to start if done in a Post Office or earlier if done online.

Therefore, you should be able to tax it on Saturday 28th June to start on 1st July.

As it's the 20th today, I don't really think it's worth losing nearly a month for to be honest.

It's expensive enough so you want to get your monies worth !

You may be able to buy the tax earlier if the car has been on SORN so it's worth asking at your Post Office.

If your car is not taxed now you can tax it early by 4 days I think. But it will not become valid until the 1st July. I had the same on 1 of my cars.

Looking at the original post, the car isn't taxed already & that's why the OP asked the question because he's keen to get it on the road.
