All that time waiting for your car Nigel and now this
If I was you I would just swallow it , stick two finger up and go. You'll soon have a beaming smile on your face for the weekend till the 1st July and onwards, in spite of a 3/4 lost month on Tax. Don't let it hold you back and live for the moment

As far as I recall, you can tax it up to two days before it's due to start if done in a Post Office or earlier if done online.
Therefore, you should be able to tax it on Saturday 28th June to start on 1st July. As it's the 20th today, I don't really think it's worth losing nearly a month for to be honest. It's expensive enough so you want to get your monies worth ! You may be able to buy the tax earlier if the car has been on SORN so it's worth asking at your Post Office. |

If your car is not taxed now you can tax it early by 4 days I think. But it will not become valid until the 1st July. I had the same on 1 of my cars.

Looking at the original post, the car isn't taxed already & that's why the OP asked the question because he's keen to get it on the road.
