Oily substance on gas T
I've busy running a thorough check on my gas systems and one thing puzzles me. Under the floor is a T in the main 10mm pipe, which is blathered in a thick grease. Only the T has the grease, so I'm puzzled as to why.
There are no leaks there. There has been a long running issue with some oily substance included in gas refill bottle, which has been known to wreck built in gas regulators and even block pipes. To avoid my regulator becoming choked up and wrecked, I moved it last year, so it was as high as possible above the gas bottle. I am now wondering if at some point the pipework became choked up with the substance and the T being the lowest point was opened up to allow the 'substance' to drain? Anyone had any experience of this?
