I was in there yesterday and it was £9.99 a litre, must have missed the offer by a day or maybe its only certain stores doing it.
I went to Wilcos in the end.

I think all owners should carry a litre in the boot, for the unexpected of course.

Just Alan's sense of humour.

Im just jesting, I have two V6s.
Picked two bottles up myself, been thinking though how to dilute it as I recall Jules posting about the damage OAT does to our cars seals and O-rings. Im sure he mentioned a mix of 70% water :/

Yes Brian, was just thinking that. Pink OAT damages seals/gaskets doesn't it?

Normal blue ethylene glycol based antifreeze with silicate corrosion inhibitors.

I change my antifreeze annually, so five year corrosion inhibitors associated with OAT types, which were introduced to extend service intervals don't really apply.

To say that I've covered almost 400k in the past ten years in my 214 on LPG on the same head gasket speaks volumes I think.

Add into that the damage I've seen personally on elastomer seals on cars which are filled with OAT, and I don't wish to take the risk personally.

Traditional "Blucol" type antifreeze also has the advantage of being compatible with my entire fleet, both old and new, and I buy in 25 litre quantities, so very cost effective

Look after the coolant, and the car will look after you
