Unhappy U75 has another leak

Yep, my vehicle has developed another leak - can you call a submarine or boat a vehicle?. Its in the same place as the last one, on the passenger side in the boot.

I initially thought that it was the chrome strip again, but after a good hosing, it seems to be coming in under the air vent on that side of the boot.

Grrr....

Easy job to remove the interior finishing panel, you will then be able to access the vent. Is the carpet wet? If not, have you checked the rear lamp assembly gasket ?

I have the interior panel pulled back. The carpet is OK as this leak is fairly new - I am in the habit of checking for leaks as my car has a bit of a history when it comes to water.

I'm 99.99% sure its the air vent as I gave the car a good hosing around the rear lamp cluster.

How is the vent removed? I gave it a few tugs but it didn't budge.

I would suggest you dismantle the rear lamp cluster and have a look at the gasket, hosing will not show it up if faulty.
If the vent is solidly fixed in place it is unlikely to be the culprit. Shut someone in the boot with a torch, and then hose the vent area that will show up if leaking.
Lates is quite good at hiding in the boot, especially when there is work to be done.

Eammon

Have you ever considered that it may be rebelling against the number of mods you've done?

. Maybe all the extra weight is affecting the car in some way?

Definitely coming in via the vent.

How the heck do you remove it? I've given it quite a few tugs but can't shift it.
