Not really, check the brake discs to make sure they're changed and check the tyres for wear on inner or outer edges, I am guessing the tracking has been off for a long time! I would buy it with the intention to have the brake pipes replaced

ta There are plenty of better cars out there, this one looks to have been neglected over a period of time. Been unloved and just used by a cheap-skate owner. You may as well look on this forum's section "Cars for sale" Kev. |

Suppose it depends on price. None of the failures are that bad and like others have said, brake pipes at least need replacing. It doesn't however look like a well looked after car and you may well find a few more problems not picked up on the MOT test. Sometimes, old low mileage cars (especially if neglected) can be more trouble than higher mileage cars.

Don't worry to much on the MOT history its the current advisories you need to concentrate on. Light corrosion on brake pipes. Get underneath wire brush or emery cloth the pipes and coat with grease. Two new rear shocks and the exhaust, well just consumable. For a one owner 50k its worth a punt.

Agreed, they're quite piddling little things, but they do seem to have consistently neglected, probably because of someone running the car on a shoestring.
Let's face it, many people do this, as a car is just another unnecessary expense when times are hard. I don't see much in there that would worry me and the bodywork and running gear are much more important, imo. It would seem the MOT tester is a bit of a backside coverer, with those advisories though and I find them really annoying. I think all that people are interested in is a pass or a fail and any of these advisories can just be mentioned when the cert is handed over. Just as it used to be, where you can ignore them without having it written down

Nothing major wrong with that, brake pipes and exhaust are not really big jobs.

suppose the brake pipes dont bother me, after all its ten year old, as for the exhaust corrosion doesnt matter untill it blows, however, what does this mean ? - Slight unbonding and play to nearside rear shock absorber rear top mounting
