Rover 45 aircon not working.
Yes, I know its not a 75, but the systems are probably similar in principle.
When it was working you could hear an audible click/clunk and change of engine noise as you pressed the button on the dash. Now it doesn't. Had a brief look yesterday after being at King's Lynn meet and have noticed that the compressor isn't turning, though it does by hand. Am I right in assuming the compressor clutch isn't engaging? Could it be that a lack of pressure in the system is causing it not to engage? Must confess system is due a recharge, as it has only been done once in my ownership of almost 6 years. Thanks in advance. Edit: Sorry, should be in technical. Can one of you lovely mods move it please?

Sorry, had forgotten about this thread.
Just in case it helps anyone else out, it was a lack of pressure causing the problem. Solved by a re-gas.

Not sure if everyone supports this idea but use kwikfit or similar to test a problem as they don't charge of they can't regard so win win. Saved me cash a few times when picking up different cars. My tomcat has a holed system but got them to try charge it and didn't cost me a penny.

Hello
Sorry to hear that V-man. I would recommend that you get your vehicle checked up. There is a great site called http://www.repairanycar.com/. It will introduce you to a network of acclaimed garages. Its just a question of typing your registration number. Hope this helps Seyi
