I think I'm right in saying yes, all the connections for speakers etc are in the BMW multiplug down the bottom behind the ashtray. You'll probably need adaptor leads to connect the stereo to that and for the steering wheel controls. Then you can remove the CD changer from the glovebox (assuming it won't be working with the new unit); the tv unit, radio/amplifier, and satnav from the boot. On the plus side this will give more space to stash emergency kit in the spare wheel well .

Hopefully coolcat or someone with better knowledge will be able to confirm all of that.

If I read and remember correctly from posts in the past:
Antenna for the radio is in the boot on highline cars, the radio lives there as well.
You can run a lead from the back to the front, or find a solution (new antenna) up front.

I had a single din radio in my highline 75, converted back to original highline, and an extra antenna was stuck to the windscreen! Without it, no radio reception, so it is not part of the plug at the front of the car.

To fit a single din head unit you will need a 5m aerial extension for the radio.
You will also need to buy the BMW 17 pin to ISO adapt or which you plug in behind the ashtray.
These are £10 from Halfords and aerial lead isn't much more from eBay.

Worth mentioning that if you have HK and a CD changer, you will lose the CD changer and also the function of the subwoofer.
