Clutches valve syndrome (pedal to floor)
Hi All, (After lot of investigations)
It appears particularly one year or so after a clutch replacement ,the unpleasant effect of pedal to floor.(harsh gear change) However, the fuid level is normal and there is no apparent leak.. It happened to me ,i replaced master and slave two times USELESSLY . Knowing the cost and work implied,i deeply regret ... Some explanations: After a slave replacement, the rear seal quickly disintegrate .(poor design + lack of lubrication ?) However the front one remains effective: The débris disseminate in all the circuit an particularly on a little valve situated at the end of the master piston (plastic OEM) Some can become encrusted in the seal preventing the pressure to build up . The fluid simply returning to the reservoir. A bleeding can cure momentary but the best way is : Empty the circuit ,leaving the body master in place, extract the piston then the little valve : Carrefully, clean it ,refit and fill with fresh DOT4 . carry on a classical bleeding or The reverse method (easier and since you have renew the fluid) as following : Reservoir and circuit nearly full ,and lid tightened: Fill syringe and tube with fluid, connect on the nipple ,release the nipple Push untill spongy piston. And at last tighten the screw ;that's all .. It's a DIY job ,i guess no garage want to do it ...in doubt, they change all and you pay .. or worse the car is scrapped !
