pot holes
Update on our local roads, council have been around with a fresh coat of yellow paint around pot holes,to make sure we don't miss them. I think this is the 3rd coat and they are still not repaired.

No surprise there then. The local high viz brigade dolloped some on our main road last week. Did loads in about an hour. Won't last 5 minutes. Say they haven't any money - funny that as they've just built a brand new multi zillion pound leisure centre.

We've had a street cleaner (the big wagon one, not a guy with a brush) around here yesterday.
The roads are in a bad state already but now all the loose gravel and cracked areas of Tarmac have been ripped up by the brushes and spread around so there's chunks of Tarmac and aggregate all over the roads. Oh, and now the potholes are even bigger!

I destroyed two very new tyres on my Subaru a few weeks ago, thanks to potholes not being repaired. I was dodging potholes I knew existed, only to hit one that I'd not seen before. £200 later, all sorted.

Did you not make a claim against the council Fraser, or whoever maintains the road?

Ive done this before and I was told unless there was a witness to my accident (snapped spring and buckled wheel) nothing could have been done! That cost me £150 to sort out

Stevenicks.
"Car tax" is nothing to do with the roads, it is not a road tax, it is a Vehicle Excise Duty which is what it says an excise duty, goes straight into the general treasury pot. |

I did, but they wanted my insurance details, and given that my friends who have been driven into have ended up with hiked premiums, I didn't much fancy having to pay more for my insurance!
