Default Parking Gripe

Now I'm known as a bit of a moaner, and though I like whisky, the fact that my drinking mug at work carries the logo "Famous Grouse", is no coincidence.

So that you all don't feel missed out, I am going to have a moan about street parking - why do people not park up the yellow or white line, but insist on parking hard against the next vehicle, sometimes reducing the available parking by losing that space up to the line? For me, I prefer to use the line, as that invariably means that I just drive straight off, without having to manoeuvre out.

Told you it was a moan.

We live in a small cul-de-sac & the parking ability of most of the neighbours frequently leaves a lot to be desired.

I absolutely hate being boxed in effectively because of other misfits park irregularly and half the time they do it no apparent reason than to miff me off!

Also I don't understand why people on our estate, hone their cars into your mirrors even when they are closed. I've had them damaged and managed and i've now seen that it mostly happens when people are parking behind me they pull way forward and get their cars to close to my motor, some people need a refresher course in how to park their cars properly!

Parking is a nightmare on my street as well and getting worse every day due to the growing collection of untaxed, unroadworthy cars abandoned there by one of my neighbours.
the police/Dvla dont seem interested. They put a "vehicle untaxed" sticker on a car, he rips it off, nothing else happens.
there is one that has been sat there untaxed since last August!

TBH, l can squeeze a car in a gap that wouldn't even be considered by most people & l frequently do. This can put people in a tight position but l don't mind them touching bumpers to extract themselves as gently nudging for position will cause no damage.

on my road, one of the neighbours parks her car in such a way that the front or rear of here car goes over the next parking space,so unless you've got a microcar, you can't fit another car in front of it what annoys me more is they have a drive but hardly ever use it do you think they'd mind if i used it

We have one who drives a Merc, and always parks 2 feet away from the kerb and never ever straightens up his steering, leaving his wheels at right angles.
