Default Top tint windscreen.

I think a blue top tint would look good on my ZT, Iv had a quick look round but found nothing. has anyone done this before and where would I get one from? I don't mean one of them plastic strips I'm thinking an integral tint in the glass.

Hi,

Used to work in the automotive glass industry, distribution, surprisingly there was never a top tint screen made for the ZT / 75. Came as standard on the 25 and 45 before the facelift, when a plain green screen was also then available.

Did look into getting one made up for my ZT at one point. The cost was not that great to be honest and I wish that I had had it done.

There is a possibility that you could get one done I suppose. You would need to speak to one of the windscreen companies to create a special order with them through a supplier. Alternatively, contact the company I used to work for, Charles Pugh Glass, Pinxton, Nottinghamshire, 01773 581458, and they would be able to help I'm sure. When I worked there, as long as the manufacturer still had the mould, any screen could be made. We even had glass made for cars from the 50's and 60's!!

Hope the above is of some help.

Regards,

Dave.

I too had this on previous cars and thought it one of the best features ever introduced. Especially in the spring and autumn when the sun is constantly low in the sky.

I would love to have a blue band at the top of the windscreen on my Trophy Blue ZT-T.

They must make replacement windscreens for the 75/ZT ? (Hope so !!)

I remember asking for a top band on a replacement windscreen in the past and not even paying any more for it. I was hoping should mine ever "go" I would be able to get one with a band?

My other thought is whilst there used to be those awful stick on bands - I wonder if modern window tint specialists could do something that looks more OE ?

A heated front screen and a top tint would be great, I managed to get one for my 45 when a certain MG forum ordered a specially made batch.

Thanks Dave. Very helpful. Shame, I thought it would of been an off the shelf choice that just cost a few quid more.
