Navall 3 dab conundrum
I've had my Navall 3 plus dab for about four months now
for about three months the dab has been playing up. The problem is the dab mauve screen appears but I cant receive sound or signal. But heres the conumdrum if Itake the unit out to inspect it when I put the unit back hey presto the unit fires up showing all 99 staions it previously autotuned. The unit will then play perfect dab until the next morning you switch on and its back to the mauve blank screen .Wiring, connectors arial all come to mind ? I was hoping above hope that someone could shed some light on the conundrum and put me out of my misery Regards piano |

Hi Steve
thank you yes I have pressed the aux in but still dead. I also had a dab reinstall and it worked fine for a few days and then returned to the blank screen |

Sounds like interference from power or other cables in close proximity to the aerial when the unit is put back in the car.... try an alternate route for the aerial or shielding the cable somehow...

Thank you I guess dab is very prone to and sensitive to interference
I will try your suggestion it makes perfect sense. The dab is not built in its a dab box receiver located under the glove box checked all the wiring cant see a problem except there's a lot of it all bundled up, since there' no way of shortening the leads. Regards piano |

I had really bad interference on my DAB from the LED lights that I installed in the new light clusters I purchased from Sean. I rerouted the aerial cable but nothing, and when I did get a signal as soon as I pressed the brake pedal signal it cut out.
A friend told me to install some ferrite cores blocks on the power leads to the lights and anywhere else there is a power feed related to the Navall. So purchased 10 from CPC and installed them on the light powered leads and all the leads attaching to the Navall including the DAB aerial lead. It is recommended that if you can loop them though the block they then block more interference. Well it worked I now get a DAB signal nearly 95% of the way on my journey from Poole to Bristol, I do not get any signal drop when braking. So recommending opening £15 on getting these ferrite cores, you can get them on Amazon and ebay very easily. |

I think the more the better. I had trouble fitting them to the black and white plugs that go into the navall because of the tight fit at the bar, so I fitted them lower down. I have basically put them on all leads whether they be aerials or power into the Navall. I also fitted them to the power leads on my led lights.
