Back on the road again :-)
Well finally got to the bottom of my latest problem..
http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=27355 and before that.... http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=26236 and before that, the one that started it all (nearly, cannot be bothered to go and look for the original thread as the following basically took over ) http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=21125 [EDIT - Found the missing link - http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...t=20217&page=5 ] WHAT A SAGA, and an expensive one to boot!! So far costs of repairs has exceeded £5k, more than the cost of the vehicle some 18 months ago!! Only need to do a regular service and replace the Turbo - EGR pipe (mine has split, patched at the moment but "whistles" a bit when I floor it) Hopefully this will be the end of all the MAJOR repairs When I bought the car I had made my mind up that this car would last me for 10 years +. After all, the engine was "bullet-proof" - NOT quite - the engine is, not the injectors, sensors, ECU's etc..... I was told the auto gear box was very good - Yeah, the reviewers forgot to say that it was good for the auto-box repairers! But after all my troubles.... I do not want to part with her (see my member's Listing ) Waiting to fit (ran out of time today) Heated washer kit, Club grille badge, and some other bits & pieces) The way I'm looking at it is, after all these MAJOR problems, I've now got more confidence in the car. The auto-gearbox has been re-conditioned, the engine has been thoroughly serviced with new injectors etc... There was a new full exhaust system fitted when I bought her (Unless they used a cheap replacement...Watch this forum ). So, it should be good for another 100k miles, besides the under-carriage wear and tear and general servicing. At the next National Meeting.... is there an award for the most dedicated owner? Just a thought..... As the only previous owner was a woman with kids, I'm getting the feeling that the garages she used to stamp the service history were not entirely honest with their work! Some of the items I've come across have definitely been "bodged". Most of which I've now cured Still, Life goes on.................................

I know EXACTLY how you feel tho! I went out and bought this
drove it home, and thats about the most I drove it! Spent more time broken than working, then the last straw was when it lunched the engine, so I gave up and bought another 75 again! Just hope this one isn't destined for the same! |

Patience of a saint Andrew, you are to be commended. Let's all hope you get that ten years relatively pain free now.
See you a the next meet. Last edited by GreyGhost; 12th October 2008 at 11:09.. |
