Default Boat craning

Well, that is Astraeus (the boat..not me! ) ready for craning in day. Got lots done yesterday but had one half of the topsides to polish today. Easterly wind and it was freezing but all ready for Tuesday! 21boats booked in for lift and typically Astraeus is number 19 not 2 or 3

Here a small picture of her ready and trying to jump into the water

Another nice hull treatment Chris !
A couple of years back I was with my friend Jeffrey when his yacht went back into the water in Malta. He has it out every second year so a very expensive hobby.
At least in Malta Jeffrey and the family get good use out of it, he was out in Valletta harbour watching the fireworks bringing in the New Year.

Default Indeed

Indeed I am Jeff. Hate it when she is out of the water. They don't feel alive. Like your friend in Malta Jim, we take her out every second year to antifoul. Used to do it annually but sometimes the weather in winter can be really good for sailing. (Not this year so no loss!)

Hoping for the weather to be kind on Tuesday as it is a long day!

Chris

Default Hairy!

Well, Astraeus is safely back in the water. Unfortunately it was pretty windy with strong gusts just on the threshold of the craning being off. 8 degrees colder than yesterday ....in fact miserable. 6.45 am until just after 12.45 saw 20 boats craned in with just a minor brush as next doors boat was lifted out of cradle. Right into my rigging. Fortunately caught in time by a fast acting friend's son before damage. Glad he was there or it may have been terminal for my starboard cap shroud.

Thank goodness today over! Always stressful.

Chris
