Default Tourer rear wiper sticking

The rear wiper on my Tourer seems to get 'stuck' from time to time, doing half a wipe and then staying in the middle of the window. It happened today and couldn't be coaxed back into life again, but on the homeward journey I tried again and heard a sharp click and then it started working again. Is this maybe something as simple as a lubrication issue, and if so, what with and where?

Mine was seized solid last year and wouldn't move at all.
Assuming the motor is working properly, then you need to strip down the wiper blade spindle and clean it up with some wet and dry, and lubricate this.
It is a bit tricky to get out of the window if has seized completely though, and I was worried about breaking the glass.
