A leaking cam gasket will cover your plugs and coils in oil.

Be prepared for the plug wells to be full of oil. Don't remove any plug without getting it all out first. Leave some fluffy rag stuffed tightly down into the wells. It will be absorbed completely in a couple of days.

A big syringe with some windscreen washer pipe on the "pointy end" is good for extracting fluids from tight spots! (and also for putting fluids into tight spots - clutch fluid reservoir!) Clean thoroughly afterwards.

Sounds just like when my cam cover gasket failed - deep joy, but easy to change and quite cheap.
We have the original part here, covered with the correct foam (not the paint which tends to flake off, and doesn't seal very well) - https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/collections/...-lvp100630-oem Good luck.

Thanks all for the tips and info. Yes checked it out can looks like a major gasket failure (it was leaking a bit before around the edge I noticed).
Sourced a Unipart gasket off of Ebay as DMGRS order had already left with my IMG.(thanks got it). Anyone got any tips for getting the rubber hoses off various parts? mine seem a bit stuck even when releasing the spring clips. I don't want to tear them (novice here as you can tell). |

Something similar to THESE should work OK or an old screwdriver bent over at the end and slid around the joint carefully.

Thanks, they look like they'd poke a good hole in the rubber!!??
Is it a case of heat/age sealing them onto the pipes which then need to be freed by running a point around the inside? |
