Windscreen surprise!
About to drive off yesterday & sunlight across the screen in front of steering wheel showed up a bright vertical line from the base of the screen. Yes, you guessed it........a 9" long crack! Where did that come from? No stone chips etc but did have all 4 tyres replaced a couple of weeks ago. Is the screen bonded in? ........I can only think that stresses from jacking up the car quite high at the front O.S may have started something off........ plus hot sunshine on the screen.
My questions then........ Are the screens the same across all models (mine is a 2002 '75' tourer club SE) and are they all tinted? Are the tints in different shades. Any likely problems with removal/refixing of rubber/plastic trim with chrome insert. Is it fragile with age. Any other likely problems to look out for? Any comment/warnings would be much appreciated before I embark on trying to get it replaced. Thanks. Norm |

Happened to me several years ago, put it in garage one evening, ok, got in it to get it out the garage next morning, immediately noticed the 18" crack across the bottom of the screen.
