Whats happened to the thanks button?

Is it a dead horse, a non-runner?

Disappeared following the latest, somewhat disastrous, update.

I'm sure what is necessary is necessary. But, it seems to be taking rather a long time to replace a button. Surely not an economy.

The thanks button was a 3rd party add on to V Bulletin and from I understand, it's not compatible with the latest version.

Hope I'm wrong, but I doubt we'll see it back anytime soon.

Festive greetings Cliff

Thank you Cliff and thank you everyone for your valuable and varied replies.

I had a look at V Bulletin and in particular with the issue of the thanks feature which is discussed in the linked page which I found in the V Bulletin forum.

I have to say having read it, it looks a nightmare to sort through but then it’s a specialty I am not familiar with.

I will leave it to the experts: the moderators and site owners to attend to. The running of the club and how the website functions with or without the “thank you” is of course down to the powers that be and to the technology. At a personal level, it is missed.

Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year

Best wishes

Hi Phil,

One of the other forums I use is this one for Canon Photographers.

https://www.eos-magazine-forum.com

It still has the Thanks (Like in their case) button working and is running vBulletin version 5.6.9

Don't know if that helps the team in getting a working version again?

It is indeed a missed function as it is a quick way of acknowledging a post when a reply is not necessary.

Thank you to everyone on this forum for all the hard work and all the contributions that you all make so that this place is a great place to be.
I'm retired and have plenty of time, so who needs a button. Ah Yes, it's for busy people who don't have the time.
I am amazed at how people keep busy when we have all those "labour saving devices".

They must be busy making and maintaining all those "labour saving devices". We didn't have them when I worra lad! Makes you wonder how we had time to design and make such things. Perhaps ................... perhaps ........... perhaps............
