Default Indicator problem

I got a message last night that a bulb had blown - indicator. The green indicator light inside the car was flashing at double speed too, which was odd. Visual inspection outside showed that it wasn't flashint.

So just got a new bulb from Halfords and replaced the old one (there's a knack to removing the housing too!). Unfortunately, it's still not working and in fact it looks like the old bulb hadn't blown.

All the wiring seems in tact so I can't see what the problem is. Any ideas?

If it's the front one I had a similar problem today, mine's been intermittant for a while now as it was a dry day for once I thought I'd repair it.

Cleaned up the contacts but still didn't work unless I moved the bulb toward the side contact.

Problem resolved by gently bending the side contact away from the side of the holder slightly so it made better contact with the bulb.

I have had exactly the same problem. New bulb started to work then stopped. I then had a detailed look at the bulb housing. The metal surround with the notches for the bulb tags is made so it only contacts one tag !! If this tiny contact area get rusty/dirty, contact is lost. I cleaned it up, and also bent up the +ve springy contact as well so as to put more pressure on the -ve contact where the tag goes. All has been OK since

Take the other indicator out and swap it over to test......it may be you'll need a replacement one.
