Default what is p1520 code please ..

anyone know what code p1520 really is ,i read it a intake manifold runnercontrol circuit malfuntion . what is a runner .. on the net it says same code is all sorts of diffrent things . anyone know for sure . some say it is a code that comes up as result of poor starting ,ie having to crank the car over and over before it starts ,not mine as mine starts first time every time ,so i know it aint that ,confused ? i will be by the time tonight comes

its a spare code for the manufacture to use if another one comes up they dont know about ,plus its for about 10 diffrent makes of car ps whats it mean dave .

ive just read a post on here explaining that it means nothing basically and not to worry about - something about battery short to ground.

Have a look at the thread labelled MANIFOLD RUNNER.

Apologies if it was yourself that posted that original thread, it was one of the replies on it that said the above info but for some reason i can no longer see the thread - hope it helps

it was me taken from the dark side .car seems fine but there is that bit in me that is worried if i continue to drive it it will mess up the engine ,had to cancel a trip to brighton as a result of my fear .my guys cant find anything wrong with the car but it dont stop me worrying

If i remembr right mems 3 engine management was the old bmw 3 & 5 engine management, it was a divice that closed a butterfly in the intake manifold to disrupt the air flow on idle, more than likley just a ghost code left in place, just like you might get a steering fluid pressure sensor fault even though it is no longer used...

I had my car at an authorized garage yesterday and they found the fault cose P1520 on my car aswell. Appearently it's not deletable and not to worry about. They had had other cars with the same fault code aswell with no problems.

i deleted it now with my £20 code reader lol .my guys £2000 snap on one wouldnt clear it hahahahaha
