Default Hi All first Post

Hi everyone, been a member for a year now, was a mechanic for 30 years, self employed most of the time. Owned several Rovers in the past, then got a lift off a friend of a friend in 2002 who had the Gold 75 tourer with every extra, he was a millionair, I had to have one. Bought the similar model Tourer Con SE. last June. MY BEST CAR EVER, within a month had to replace Alternator £90 (paid by previous owner but fitted it myself) Both rear springs (replaced with H/Duty). Just replaced rear discs £26 the pair (stilll get my discount) for the MOT. A couple of advisory's for pale flasher bulbs, but sailed through the test. I was a bit apprehensive buying the car with 130,000 miles on and no service history. Engine and Car run beautifuly. Fast Pass MOT test on emisions with a .6 reading (brand new diesels dont always get as low) Thank you BMW yes its the 2Ltr Diesel. Fitted Rover Rons Synergy 2 use setting 8 most of the time, 39 to gallon at avrge 17.4 mph round Town. 52 on a long run. Thank You Rover. Many Thanks to the Forum, I have read a lot of the post's and learn't a lot.

Big welcome to the club.
Being a mechanic you will find enough info on here to sort anything out.
Best engine as well

Welcome Alan (to the world of posting anyway), as has been said many times on here, the Diesel engine is pretty bullet proof, and 130K is nothing (my petrol V6 is up to 138K now without a hick-up BTW).

It just goes to show, these cars sell themselves, you've only got to sit in one, or take it for a drive to be smitten.

I hope you've managed to find your way around the various forums since joining last year, but if there is anything you can't find, please don't hesitate to ask. We're all here to help

Hi, Yes Just down the road from you, As they say on the coast here it's usually Two topcoats warmer at Bedlington. Could pass your way sometime, even if it's just to try the AirCon. Never use it in Blyth.
