re Club vis tester
A message from John:
The club vis tester that was being sent out by myself has now been returned to the donator Dave, and he has passed it onto Actros for the sending out of. If you were on the list, I am afraid you will now have to PM or re register with Actros to borrow the said tester. Sorry for any inconvienience caused. Regards John (aka JohnDotCom)

Just To clarify, VIS tester is with me, will be given a quick check over this weekend when I am back home, then we are ready to go chaps.
As far as I know actros will be the keeper of the tester. I honestly would volunteer to do this but with a change of job I don't seem to have a minute to spare only being at home at weekends. It is free to all subscribed members, but you will have to pay for the postage both ways, not fair to ask Actros to fork out and try to get it back

Thanks Dave - much appreciated. (and I know what you mean about being home only at the weekends ... this written from a B&B just outside Coventry right now!!)

VIS Tester
After reading a few posts about a 'tappety' engine I think mine too maybe suffering from damaged VIS motors I would be very grateful for my chance of the said tester. My arm linking to one of these motors seemed loose and rattles somewhat? Do I need a new inlet manifold? Does this come complete with vis motors and arm?
Sorry but whaen it comes to cars I havnt a clue! That's how I ended up having a Rover! Paul |

Hi Paul and welcome to the club. To get a chance at borrowing the VIS tester, you'll need to contact Actros, send him a PM and he'll be able to slot you in when there's a gap in the list of members wanting it.
The only thing to point out, is that it is only available to subscribed members (those who pay £10 and who's names are red). If you'd like to consider subscribing, your money will go towards the running costs of the club, and you'll have access to additional forums including the ability to post in the for sale sections. Your PM allowence also goes from 5 to 75 messages. Just click on the subscribe button at the top of the screen and use paypal to pay. Regards. |

If by the arm you mean you have removed the top VIS motor and the brown arm below is loose, then I am afraid your Inlet anifold is beyond repair. The arm should be quite posative in its operation sliding from side to side, any up and down travel is wear and none repairable at the moment. Sorry.
