hi i am in the process of changing my dashboard leds to blue if anyone is interested and wants to change theirs
the light switch takes 7 SMD PLCC-2 leds and 2 standard 3MM leds
the manual heater controls are also SMD PLCC-2
and the window switches are 1206 SMD leds

Any pictures or links you may have will certainly help members looking to do the same.

Steve ( Calibrax ) has done a lot of work on this too.

I've done my window switches and heated and cruise switches but yet to do any more. Not enough hours in the day.

You can use the PLCC-2 LEDs in the window switches as well, which makes ordering much easier

Edit : much easier to solder than the 1206 SMD as well, as they are much bigger! But they still fit perfectly.

Just to add... on the light switch (and some of the other switches in the car) there are microswitches which use the 3mm LEDs. The procedure is to desolder the microswitch and drill out the orange LEDs with a Dremel, then solder in the new blue LEDs. However these do need to be filed down quite a bit to reduce their circumference to about 2mm; otherwise they will cause the switch to stick. Quick & easy to do with a Dremel or similar.

I make that 23...

SIDELEDS for the dials, 2+4+4+2 = 12
PLCC-2 for the odometer = 10
PLCC-2 for the alarm LED = 1

Love the V8 button idea!

whoops, miscount- you are correct.

Ive got a bucketload anyway, as you know, once on the path to blueness there is no return !!

the sideleds will be replaced with PLCC ones ( and have been in the clock ).
