Default iPad Connectivity

I was given an iPad for my birthday and after whinging about the "piece of *****" I have decided to keep it to see if my attitude towards it will change. I have a low line Symphony head unit in my 2001 Club v6 75 with a six stacker CD in the glove box. I was thinking of trying to connect the iPad through the symphony by removing the stacker and using the line inputs through a converter. I have seen bluetooth to FM transmitter units but they are too expensive. Also is there any recommended mounting units for an iPad? I have ordered an FM transmitter from Hong Kong that uses the iPad (iPod, iPhone) proprietary connector. It charges and transmits on the FM band as per usual. I will let you know how it sounds
