Default Found a scratch....gutted

Some kind soul has decided to mod my car for me. On the bumper next to the headlight I now have an inch long scratch. Thank you very much. Cheers.
To make matters worse Mrs simondi thinks i'm over reacting, but there is no way it'll polish out. I think i'll need to speak to that nice Tim Burgess sometime soon.

I thought of Tim the minute I saw your title. I'm sure Tim will be able to tell you if it can be treated or not. Here's hoping.

Default How deep

Whats the general rule as to how deep a scratch is as to if it will polish out or not?

My son has just got a car and someone has keyed it already.

If cannot polish out are there other options apart from a panal respray.

I know how you feel when some lowlife damages someones pride & joy.

Some people are just scumbags. Some lovely person decided to remove all the air from the tyres, knock both mirrors off and smash a window on my Mum's 911

It's cowards who do it. They dont knock on your door to let you know what they are going to do. Total cowards.

Had my last car damaged more than once, mirrors knocked off or broken on a number of occasion, got to a point where I tried to have a spare ready in hand and a few months before I sold it it was keyed right across the bonnet (down to bare metal) and later still had god knows what thrown over it one night.

If your finger nail catches the scratch, then it's too deep to polish out. It needs paint.

Few options; DIY - MER sell a kit including instructional DVD. Superchips. Halfords(!)

As an aside, on my way up the M74 last week, I passed a BMW 1 series in white - which someone had thrown pink paint all over it. Looked a right mess.
