I had the exact same problem, would start the car and then switch on my lights (had HID's) and the engine would cut out and wouldn't restart for up to a minute or two after.

My HID kit was the cause of this, one of the ballasts became faulty. once I replaced the ballast the problem was cured.

for now don't turn on your lights whilst driving, because if it cuts your engine out it won't always restart immediately.
