Got nearly all the MOT bits done at reasonable cost, including having to buy a new wishbone as taking off the old one broke part of it However, having to order a new front exhaust, including cat, as apparently just welding in a flexi-pipe is too difficult for mechanics here to do One specialist tyre and exhaust place quoted me 2 hours to fit a flexi-pipe (if it was possible...) at £55 an hour labour! So, at £130 for the new front exhaust off eBay, that's the way we're going!
The mechanic adjusted all my mirrors and driver's seat for his test drive - don't you just hate that! - and somehow switched on the airbag warning light. I know it's probably just a loose connection under the seat, but is having the warning light on a fail on a re-test of the MOT (considering it was not there when they tested the car last week)?

Is it easy to find, remove and refit the underseat connectors?

A rare day of glorious sunshine yesterday (rain back today!!) so removed the suspected knackered parking sensor loom and replaced with the one of my donor car. First time since I bought the car 2 years ago that the reversing sensors have worked and no more long beeeep on selecting reverse, very happy chappy now!!!

Removed, cleaned and fitted new kit to idle solenoid/fuel injector/throttle body. Coil pack and plug lead connections removed and cleaned. After a trip for some fresh fuel and an Italian tune up on the way home, my rough running and misfires have disappeared. Many thanks to Trikey for his suggestions and Stocktake for the info on the VIS system. Much appreciated.

Nowt really, drove it a bit, looked at how dirty it was, then drove it a bit more.
Then it rained, and I took the hound for a walk and got wet Brian |
