I'm not sure what's causing the wiring to get so hot. The little black sealed connector block where the black wire coming from the camera and splitting into 3 wires (RCA, live and earth) was getting extremely hot and causing a burning smell after about 5 mins. I tapped into the light green/red wire from the reverse sensors ECU and also tapped into the black earth cable for it too.

Ah okay I see, I think i'll take the splitting approach you've suggested and just use the front camera option
Too much resistance would cause that.
Without being able to meter what you have connected it's hard to say.
Best course of action is to connect it to a known good 12volt ignition wire and good earth point.
Just a point, the red wire poking out of the phono plug, did you connect that to anything ?
If you didn't you may want to make sure it is not touching any bodywork or other earth source as that could cause your problem.

The 8 pin mini din should work, just make sure it is a straight through extension and not crossed wired for some reason

I may have to take the feed from the head unit wiring like I did with my dad's reverse camera install rather than from the boot.

This is the wiring kit which came with my camera. I connected the red wire to the 12v LGR wire leading to the parking sensor ecu and connected the black cable to the earth.

Fitted the Navall 3 and got it working now including the steering wheel controls also fitted my new drivers side cup holder

Only issue I have is my Navall wont sit back flush in the centre consol, it just cant seem to go any further back for some reason. Is this normal due to its size?

It can take some fettling to fit it.
If you remove the air conditioning unit you can get more purchase on it to fit.
I have found that the iPod lead if fitted doesn't allow it to fit fully flush so unless it's needed I tend to avoid using it

Can a custom boot up logo be uploaded to the Navall 3? I went onto the factory setting and can see theres a choise of various logos I can use, but can I upload my own one?

Thanks!

Custom wallpapers yes but don't think you can change the boot up logo apart from the factory ones!

There probably is ways of doing it by other means but I'll leave others to discuss the 'merits' of doing so

Am I right in thinking the length of that android video is timed to allow for the system boot up... so if it were removed you would still have to wait the same time before starting any apps?
