ooops.

Just been on another ebay spree.

Just as I thought I was coming to a close, it seems there will be more updates for this thread to come. I feel like a junkie, I have such poor impulse control....

Watch this space next week......

well, just got a call from the spray shop - it's ready. I'm off. Let's hope the conversation when I get there doesn't start 'what's wrong, you did want it pink didn't you?'

Keep it coming, keep it coming. this is the most interesting thread I've read in ages.

It now needs to become picture heavy with the respray parts and those serpents fitted...

Will try and post the pics later but my hearts not in it for now. After a great start today my amp install went pear shaped as the cable wasn't long enough and I couldn't work out how to get the wire routed to the boot once I got it in from the engine bay above the pedal box even if it had been. Pig sick. Another reminder of how my reach always exceeds my grasp. I should listen to my dad and quit while I'm ahead. He's been telling me I'm crazy for months and should just be satisfied anyway

I won't post pictures as I'm deeply unhappy - despite being blown away at first, having got it home and looked it over closely I'm not that impressed. The paint has spattered in a spot on the door, the keying damage is almost visible and it is apparent to my eye it has been sanded in places. I am a perfectionist and this isn't perfection. It is better than it was and probably fair for the price I paid. On top of today's problem with the amp I can't be more glass half full than that as hard as as I try. I'm gutted and wondering what was the point of any of it.

I know what it like Tony, I had a bad paint repair on a previous car and I took it back when I could still see sanding marks, thought I was being fussy but the paint shop manager agreed and got the painter to redo it again,

I would have a word with them and see what their attitude is, if there proud of their work they will re do, if they are out for a quick buck then you may have a fight on your hands.

However I am sure your car looks much better than you think it does with the repair and only close observation would any spot your issues.

Chin up mate

Just take a break mate, I've had moments where I felt like giving up, especially after someone hit the rear of my ZT whilst it was parked in a car park just 2 or 3 weeks after I bought it. Bodywork was immaculate before that, now the paint on the bumper is cracked. Not really noticable, but you know its there.

I've also had bad days when working on my ZT when simple tasks are just being difficult.

i agree with Stubbie, as i said on the phone definately worth taking it back and pointing out what you're unhappy with, and if they are a good business they will fix it for you.

Will take a look at it when you pop over tomorrow, I'm sure it looks fine

Thanks Stuart I'm sure you are right. Bad day I guess. I don't think I have it in me to have a big fight over it as I don't know ho much is fussiness. I will sleep on it though. Cheers

Cheers rick. Yeah it would be good to get your opinion. Like I said though for the price I paid I may just cut my losses and leave it as it is an improvement for sure a I could do without stresses in m life. This car has been my refuge from things. If it becomes another problem I'd just walk away which I don't want to do. Wrong point in my life for a barney about things I think!
