If Mk1, then here's the link;

I'll be going that way soon, but it might be a good idea to build up a bulk order to get them even cheaper.

Hi, i have a Full Chrome Grill for sale, apart from a slight lifting of the chrome it is in very good condition, if you follow the link i've put up some photos to show its condition. I know its not top notch but its just over £10 cheaper than the brand new one.

He will sell to club members for £53 all in if you e-mail him first (his name is Rehan) at [email protected], just have to buy a badge or use your old one. Please take note these grilles are slightly undersize and are not as good a fit as the originals but do look good when fitted.

Thanks for letting me know that. Is there any comparison photos to see the difference between the two?

The difference is in the depth (top to bottom), about 5mm less. It means that you have a larger bonnet/ grille gap or if you use washers to raise it, you have a larger gap at the bottom of the grille which shows the brackets slightly. Wrapping insulating tape around the bottom 'tongues' does improve the fit but they don't feel quite as securely fixed as the originals, look good though.

Thanks for clarifying that and for the tips. I always wondered what 'shorter' meant.

I was interested to read this. I've just had a look at the chrome grille I took off my old CDT. The grille is exactly the same size as the grey painted one and is also the same weight. In addition to this is a reference number on the back - DHB102540 MCJ. If it is an 'aftermarket' grille, whoever made it went to a lot of trouble to make it look like a genuine item. Is the code genuine or fake? Is the grill genuine or fake??. Whatever it is, it looks really good!!
