Rear lights - Saloon quick question
Hi all,
I hope everyone is well and everyone is doing OK. Just a quick silly question regarding rear lights on the saloon. I have a small crack in one of my rear lights on my MKII ZT, if I purchased a light off a MKI are the fittings the same and the electrical plug the same? I fancy fitting the 75 rear lights as the indicator is tinted rather than clear, and that's basically what I'm on the hunt for. Many thanks. Richard

yes they all have the same fittings and plugs so they'll fit. The 75 tinted ones do look better

Many thanks.
Yes they do look much better. I've heard they can be a bit of a begger to remove and then re-seal on refit? Is this similar to the issue I had with the number plate plinth where Rover used double sided sticky tape to hold the damn thing on? Lot's broke the day I removed it, and lots of naughty words where spoken!

Rear lights on the saloon are easy to remove just three nuts inside and they come off the car that is unless someone as used silicone to seal them which is not needed at all. All you need to do is remove the light clean the area around where the gasket meet the body work, make sure the gasket is still whole if not you can either staple it together or purchase new gaskets which come whole from jezzer on here. smear some Vaseline on the body of the car around the light, a little on the gasket and re-fit they should seal nicely. https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=142690

As above just 3 (8mm from memory or might be 10mm) nuts on each light. I recommend getting new light seals to fit at the same time, as often they split when removing the tail lights if they still have the originals seals fitted, which cases water to leak into the boot.
