anyone virginised a v8 instrument cluster before?
I have a v8 instrument cluster here and the virgin code for it but can't seem to get the coding to write successfully. Has anyone done it successfully before?

Sorry Rick, haven't done one, if that Virgin file you got from Brian isn't working then the one I have won't either.
We copied the file from a new cluster that I had, I guess it didn't copy properly. Russ

Done a few with no issues at all, if your having problems remove the chip and program it out of circuit.

All sorted
One v8 cluster successfully virginised for a customer. Also made a set of custom 75 dials for this cluster, as it was originally from a ZT 260, and the customer didn't have the correct 75 v8 dials. I didn't have any either in my stock of genuine dial faces so made a duplicate set with a couple small changes Many thanks to Marinabrian, Bigruss and Phil-t4 who helped me get this one virginised |

One thing i will note Rick, the V8 cluster should be showing a full tank as that part of the cluster works in the opposite way to all the others.

Is that when the cluster's first plugged into the car Phil? Have noticed v8 clusters always show a full tank of fuel when they're first plugged back in. The fuel gauge doesn't do that when it's plugged in at my work bench though.

Powered up on the bench the fuel gauge needle will automatically move up to the full mark and sometimes past it and get stuck resulting in having to manually nudge it back down when the power is removed.
If it doesn't do this then its not a V8 IPK. |
