IPK Lines -whats happening.

Showing my ignorance here but like many i have lines on my IPK - i have noticed when very hot sometimes 5 or 6 lines appear - in cooler temperatures 1 or 2 lines and fairly often non at all - whats happening

I have a replacement MG 7 IPK safely tucked away for when i really need it.

As I understand it, the display screen has a thin ribbon cable connection that makes contact by little more than friction. As the temperature of the assembly changes, some of the contacts begin to - err, lose contact. It's due to thermal expansion effects on the contact pads and how firmly they're pressed together. I believe fixing the lines on the display means improving the pressure on ribbon terminals.

Yes that happens on all of them until they get really badly lined at which point you tend to see lines stay there permanently.

The factory screens don't like very hot temperatures, and also don't like very cold temperatures either.
