Sorry Ian but I have to disagree with you on this. If you are a regular commuter to work, and otherwise, you usually put on your insurance an amount of miles you expect to cover in a 12 month period. The risk is more if you travel 10,000 miles normally in a year, than if you only travel 9,000 miles per year because of this virus nuisance. Therefor a rebate should be paid for the miles not travelled because of this damned virus thingy. Come on Ian, let’s get the price of motoring down, not as usual, up.

Replace "need" for "reason", what has prompted them to do it? That is a heck of a lot of money they will be giving away. Not something I would have expected insurance companies to do. macafee2 |

I was just thinking the same, thought the article was too late for April fools. Insurance companies are usually penny pinching as much as possible.

I have annual travel insurance which runs till Sept, I have been trying to contact the provider to ask whether they are giving any consideration to suspending or extending. Phone queues too long up till now will keep trying but not expecting much joy.

It is ‘good practice’ to curry favour with more customers. I don’t blame them. They must have saved millions on accidents that have not happened that usually do this time of the year. I think they have played a blinder with their rebate. Good on em.
