The price, if I recall you posted up was £65. For that £65, I assume you would not be bypassing the rules and would have subscribed as a trader, even for a month? there has been precedent for this, where a member offered a non profit supply, but still had to subscribe - even though I do not agree with it, it does maintain a consistency and fairness (how are we to know there is no profit involved, and it also prevents members making profit whilst claiming none are made in future). I do not know if Rick has actually done the work he claims above, but I have no reason to doubt him over it at all. Work and effort, if undertaken, he is entitled to be compensated and even congratulated for (particularly due to the limited appeal), particularly in the ingenuity of doing something to earn a few quid for what could only ultimately amount to pocket money on the grand scale of things. Looking at the costs involved, via Rick, it is not excessive either. How long did the person you watched take to dismantle, solder and rebuild the cluster? An hour? So £65 to buy from you, and how much to have a local 'soldering person' solder it for me, £30-50? (I may be able to do it myself, but then if I damage it.....). Then for him/her to test it ....... OK unlikely he/she could test it, but you spend time refitting the cluster, only to find it was faulty all along. Now it all has to come out, be desoldered (for how much?) and sent back to you, because you will be warranting them, after all I bought from you. Will you pay the cost to desolder the faulty and reinstall of the replacement? Even if it works on fitting, but fails after 8 months....... By my reckoning, based upon your figure of £65, Rick is 'profiteering' between £20 and £40, ignoring any faulty units or mishaps. Why should he not? He has a business no different to the likes of Tesco or others. Additionally from what I can tell, he does a fair bit to enhance ownership (if that is your taste). I can also choose to buy elsewhere for some items, but with the LED trims and windscreens these are unique requiring a bit of effort on his part. The IPK screen supply has been no secret, but the back up that Rick offers is worth paying for surely? Heated windscreens? Where else could you find them? He put the effort into those. Colour changing of the LEDs and cluster display change, he bought the goodwill and development from Klarzy who himself, put a lot of effort into initiating and developing this part of the business, and with Rick since progressing it. If you do not want to buy from Rick, that is fine, if you want to set up a competing business, that too, is fine. But it is unfair to accuse him of 'profiteering' when in most instance other options are available, for similar costs, but without the same kind of back up and specialist development (ie with 75/ZT).
