Trader purchase not as promised, now lack of contact details?
SOLVED
In 2018 i purchased through [email protected],later changed to [email protected], a Galaxy Octacore Media center for my Rover 75.Order Number:3280 placed June 2018. Eventually at some point in 2019 it arrived, minus the promised walnut surround. I finally managed to contact the seller, late 2019,first name "Andy" who promised to refund my payment for the walnut surround. Mail went back and fore for months, until eventually I was contacted by a trader in the UK (2020),who informed me that the so called "Andy" was a shyster, banned from dealing within the club, and that he the UK rep, was now in sole charge of all sales. He promised the refund plus a reversing camera(to make up for my hassle) stating that it would be with me within the week.It goes without saying I'm still waiting. For members considering purchase, beware? For those who may have purchased do you have any updated contact information for trader? I only raise this now, as before it never crossed my mind to contact the club, but I now note that the sales moderator made a legal post applicable to both traders and purchasers, regarding problems associated with purchases, including time delays etc. One of his comments was that members affected should approach the club? aren't those email addresses for Sean aka Radioguy as he was known on here? he was banned from here quite a few years ago after his customer service just sort of disappeared and many were left without head units they'd ordered ?
I know Jeff (coolcat) was working as a agent here in the UK to assist with supply and fittings (Sean was based in Canada) however I've not heard of anyone called Andy being involved unless that was another agent?

It was Jeff (coolcat) who picked up on my (unfilled) order and made the promises that Sean failed to keep, also filled me in as to Seans character. In fact you have a good memory, as you have managed to fill in all the information that I had, but until now had mislaid.!!! It was coolcat who also promised to make up the money owed to me, but to my knowledge has also dropped out of sight, without keeping his promises!! So thank you for bringing all details back up to date, as it gives me the opportunity of taking it a step further.

My understanding is that Jeff was only involved in the repair / help side of things, so I'd clarify that before going any further.
If the payment and contract was with Sean, this is how you'd have to progress things - I can't remember for certain, but I'm sure Jeff's involvement was very limited.

As said, I think you'll find that your original contract was with Sean & that is who you would have paid, not Jeff (Coolcat).
If you intend to pursue this along a legal route, Sean is the one you need to locate. Many of us purchased from him & some, myself included, had problems with units in one form or another but by that time, he had disappeared. |

Jeff (Coolcat) Was doing installations for radioguy, I know he was left out of pocket as he was doing repairs and installs of radioguys sales long after radioguy has disappeared.

Also, why would I offer out of my own pocket to make up for money you are/were owed by Sean, AKA Radioguy, not by me? All I did was act as Sean's agent to send his products out to his customers. He paid the company I worked for at the time for doing this. The only thing I charged for was fitting head units/accesories for forum members who requested this. It was over three years ago when I stopped working with Sean as I left the company I worked for to pursue my new career. Sean did have another chap in the UK who's name escapes me at the moment. I believe this was very short lived though and Sean did his disappearing act. If you would like to remind me of any conversation we had to the contrary then please do so. Edit......Just to add after reading this more carefully. I think you are confusing me with this 'Andy' person? I never took over when Sean disappeared, In fact I stopped working with him before that happened. I left the company I used to work for to go self employed which I still am (just about in these Covid-19 times). Possibly the other person who started doing the distribution for Sean is the person you refer too? There is a very long thread on here (in the In Car Entertainment section) when this all kicked off where I believe he may have posted a few times. If I can find the posts, I'll link them on here.

I don't think you'd be able to get hold of Sean at all unfortunately he's long gone. Not even sure how it would work to peruse any refund from him as he's based abroad. |

This all started back in 2017........Here's the thread.
https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=277216 The other person involved with Sean after I left is on there somewhere I believe. Don't think he ever took over from Sean as such though. Edit.....Just read the first couple of pages and here is Sean posting as to the problems he was having and my leaving which was 2017... So whoever it was you dealt with in 2018 (Andy?) it wasn't me I'm afraid. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...8&postcount=16 Further edit.... Could this be the person you ordered from ? https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...&postcount=394 Not Andy but a Rob who was the chap dealing with Sean's distribution. In the thread he said he sold some of Sean's stock off to cover the debts he had been left with, maybe that was whom you spoke with?
