Headlamps restored today, great results
Recently bought a 3M Headlight Restoration Kit for £17 of eBay as another member had recommended it on threat on here. As the weather was good today, thought I'd take the front end off the ZT and get a few jobs done along with the headlamp restoration.
Here's the kit: I've tried previously a couple of times to restore the headlamps by hand using wet and dry sandpaper but never got any good results on my ZT, although it did work well on the 75 last year. However, I have to say this kit is fantastic, headlamps fully restored and really clear. Kit comes with gold and white sanding discs and a polish, and all works with a household drill. So finally have clear headlamps on my Zed Here's a before and after shot I took, unfortunately the camera doesn't pick it up properly but the outer lense on the left is refurbished and the inner lense isn't. Decided to do the headlights on my dad's 75 too as they'd faded quite badly. Before: can't see into the headlight very well. After: Very happy with the results, well worth £17 and a hour or so of your time. Now to see if it lasts, hopefully the headlamps stay like that for a good period of time before they need doing again. Would recommend to anyone looking to restore their headlamps Rick |

much much better! and not only do they look better, the light output out of the headlights is much better too. The 75's light output became quite poor due to the headlamps being very cloudy.

Have you a link to the £17 kit as all I can find UK wise is £24.
Hope they didn't put the price up because all rushed at once

Thanks Rick
Did you apply a UV sealer afterwards as some of the reviews from Detailers report lenses going cloudy again soon after unless sealed?! I have bought some 3M kits even though they don't appear to have the sealer included but which I have ordered separately Well done Phil also hope you are well ?! Couldn't you have asked that car owner to shift his car for you to work on yours? Jules

Apart from the rubbing compound which comes with the kit, I haven't applied any form of seal to the headlamps. It's been 5 months now since I used the kit and both my ZT's and my dad's 75's headlamps have stayed perfectly clear. hopefully they last a long time
They've lasted much longer than when I done them by hand using wet and dry sandpaper last year. Started to go back to how they were within a couple of months. |

Maybe there's some sort of sealer in the polish supplied?!
