Default Long overdue update

Been a while since I updated this progress thread.

Here's some of the bits done on Redfive since my last post.

Installed a boot release button under the lip spoiler. One thing I've always found a bit inconvenient is that the saloon models don't have a boot release button on the bootlid. Had a tourer before this which had the boot release button under the plinth. Not a big deal as can be opened using the key fob but comes in handy as I'd often leave the keys indoors after unlocking the car if I don't need them while I'm working on the car.

Works nicely, has a nice little blue LED, and wont open the boot when the car is locked.

Default Winter Wheels

Bought some lovely apex wheels finished in anthracite to fit to Redfive as winter wheels as the Dare wheels are a bit of a mare to keep clean in the winter months. Also the road salt etc really weathers these type of deep dish wheels so they'll only be fitted during the summer months once they've been refurbished.

Default New duplex cat back stainless exhaust

Some pics of the new custom made stainless cat back duplex exhaust made and fitted by MIJ Performance Exhaust Systems on redfive. Top service from them again. They also done the full stainless manifold back exhaust on my typhoon zt about 6 years ago so returned to have this one done.

Default Making Redfive look a bit meaner

Had been toying with the idea of doing this for some time to make it look a bit more modern and aggressive. Tinted the tail lights, painted the exhaust heatshields gloss black and also used some gloss vinyl on the section of the bumper between the heatshields and just above the diffuser. Before and after Pic in the 2nd pic below.

The tint on the tail lights has barely affected light output which is just what I was hoping for, as didn't want the tail lights to end up looking dim.

Tinting the lights and applying the vinyl is probably the hardest mod I've ever done, each light took about a hour and a half to do. They're not perfect, but not bad for a first time using tint film and vinyl. Really pleased with the look this has achieved for the rear end

I also then tinted the front indicators and fog lights to match the rear end.

Default Custom MG Logo Etched Projector Lenses

Something I'd been wanting to do for a couple years now but finally got the equipment to do it. Custom etched projector lenses with RGB Demon eye set up. Very popular mod on the headlight customisation scene.

Done this on the outer factory projectors. Set the demon eyes to blue which goes really nicely with the red halos.

So the Demon eyes and Red halos are all set up to turn on when I unlock the car or when a car door is open. When the ignition is switched on the demon eyes and red halos switch off and the white DRLs turn on.

With the dipped beams on

Default

Fitted the chrome air vent trims which I had sitting around for quite a while. Also sourced a MG7 AC panel and converted the button LEDs to blue and the screen LEDs to red to go with the red and blue theme.

Also installed a boost gauge, on the typhoon I've installed one where the clock goes but didn't want to loose the clock in this one so bought a mount to install it on the steering column.

And had a little LED MG ZT panel made up for the boot lid.

Default Undersealed

Spent a good couple days under redfive undersealing it. Wire bushed all the surface rust off and then used Dinitrol Underbody Rust Proofing on the rear subframe, suspension components etc and the front subframe and suspension parts. And then done the rest of the floorpan with black hammerite.

Default Redfive's summer wheels refurbished

Had the summer wheels refurbished as a birthday present to me from my fiance Deanna and my parents. Had them done as Insprayation in Kent and have to say they have done an amazing stunning job. The wheels were originally silver with the polished rims, but as I've changed the look of the car quite a bit whilst these have been off (with the tinted tail lights, side repeaters, front indicators, fog lights, gloss black diffuser etc) I thought having them done in silver wouldn't really go. Thought anthracite would be too dark and wouldn't suit these wheels so settled on a mid grey.

Here's some pics, absolutely love them. These were only trial fitted and are now tucked away until the summer months.

Yesterday I finally got round to wiring up my heated windscreen. Only took me 10 months! The front heated windscreen runs off a extra heated seat switch I've installed upside down in the switch panel.

Also finally got round to fitting the illuminated vanity mirrors. Had them sitting around for ages. Changed the halogen bulbs out for LED ones as well.
