It was never given the go ahead as a 75 so as to not compete with the E46 models.
BMW bolstered that too, and also had reduced the height of the front indicators of the original 75 design, to such an extent that lowering the car later wasn’t possible without redesigning the whole bumper. This is why after BMW, under the new MG-R, Peter Stevens relocates the indicators on the new redesigned ZT bumper to a higher position to allow for the drop in ride height. |
