Door Lock Pop Up Posts.
Yes, door lock posts, I'm struggling to see what these are for. What do they do? apart from pop up, pop down and rattle. Doors can be locked with the locking button so what is their purpose?

Ever tried locking the doors without a battery attached? (sometimes necessary)

yep comes in useful if the car battery is dead, as locking with the key in the driver's door only locks the driver's door. Also if someone in the car just wants to lock their door they can by pushing that pin down, rather than pressing the central lock button which locks all the doors.
I think it's that plastic chrome effect surround on the door car where the pin sticks out of which causes the rattling noise, well it does on mine of our cars anyway |

You can also tell if your central locking is working all round.

I got some self adhesive clear vinyl, pulled the pin up slightly and put a strip around the pin. No more rattle

I can't count how many times my drivers side peg has caught my skin and pinched me if wearing a T-Shirt. Nasty things.
By the way, those pegs are going to do you no good if you have no battery etc... unless you can enlighten us please...? |
